Rasi Associates is a comprehensive psychotherapy and consultation group practice that offers individual and couples therapy. Rasi Associates is committed to providing excellent clinical and consultation services to the metropolitan Boston area, a community that we have been serving for more than twenty-five years.
Rasi Associates was founded by, and
named after, Richard A. Rasi
Dr. Rasi started Rasi Associates in 1989. He had a vision of bringing together a team of people who trusted and liked each other, who had a good time working together, who were down to earth, smart, open, authentic, and spiritually alive. Rasi Associates is committed to work with all populations including the LGBT+ community. Rasi Associates continues to function as a cohesive group practice providing therapeutic and consultation services to individuals, couples, and organizations that believe in their capacity to change and grow. Dr. Rasi achieved his dream. Those of us working at Rasi Associates continue to honor his legacy and carry out his vision. He was our friend, our colleague, our mentor. He is our inspiration now.
We are proud to call ourselves Rasi Associates.
At Rasi Associates we believe individuals and couples are capable of positive change. As clients learn to set goals, expand knowledge of tools and strategies available, receive unconditional positive regard within the therapeutic relationship, clients are empowered to effect the desired change within their life. Because we understand that each of our clients are unique we pay special attention to matching our counseling approaches and expertise with the individual needs of each client, whether an individual or a couple. Our associates offer diverse perspectives and skills in order to meet various clinical and consultation needs. At Rasi Associates we believe that in addition to our common human experience, everyone lives in the context of their own culture, family, spirituality, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, and socioeconomic class. With that in mind we offer clinicians with varied backgrounds and experiences. We represent a wide age range of male and female associates who are multi ethnic/racial, gay, lesbian, and straight, from diverse religious, spiritual, and cultural traditions. All of our associates are LGBT+ friendly.

MEET OUR TEAM
Dr. Victoria Paratore completed her Doctorate at Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology (now Williams James College). Anxiety, depression, trauma, phase of life challenges, chronic medical illness, grief and bereavement are some of the issues she has addressed in treatment with her clients. She is a member of the American Psychological Association, Massachusetts Psychological Association, New England Society for the Treatment of Trauma and Dissociation, The Gestalt Institute of New England and The Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute. Dr. Paratore became the Director of Rasi Associates on March 1, 2016. Rasi Associates has been proudly serving the metropolitan Boston community since 1989.
Carol Axelrod, a Rasi Associate since 1989, has been a clinical social worker for about 40 years. She wears two hats at Rasi Associates, one as a psychotherapist specializing in work and life balance and the other as a career consultant and coach. Carol has a Masters of Social Work degree from Boston University, a BA from the University of Chicago in Art History, and extensive post-graduate study. At the root of Carol’s work is her conviction that awareness of feelings and thoughts is a prerequisite for making new choices; much of what she does with clients is work to increase that awareness. In addition to psychotherapy, Carol provides career consultation. She works with people at any stage of their career and work lives, from immediately after high school or college, throughout the career transitions and changes that come during the normal life cycle, and in managing the challenges that arise at the time of retirement from work.
Claire Bonfilio is a licensed clinical social worker with over 30 years experience working with a wide variety of clients. What guides her work is a belief in the importance of self awareness. Becoming aware of our thoughts and feelings leads to choices of what we want to hold on to and what we want to leave behind. In this way we can become liberated from old ways that perhaps once necessary now no longer serves us. Much of Claire’s experience and training has been in the area of childhood trauma and neglect. In addition she has training in Jungian and Gestalt therapies. With Jungian therapy comes the focus on our spiritual needs, or more broadly a search for meaning in whatever form it takes. With Gestalt therapy comes the emphasis on our relationship with others, identifying interruptions in contact, both conscious and unconscious that affect our ability to connect authentically. Claire continues to find this work to be so gratifying and an honor to be a part of her clients’ journey towards growth and change.

Becky has experience in working with clients who identify as LGBT+. Her clinical specialties are helping clients who present with depression, anxiety, trauma, and environmental stressors. Her work is rooted in feminist and social justice perspectives. She uses a combination of psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, and psychoeducational approaches to therapy. Becky’s goal as a therapist is to provide a safe, comfortable, respectful, and healing space in which clients can explore past and present patterns of thought, feelings, and behaviors that are no longer beneficial, to create new ways of relating to self, others, and one’s environment, and to get in touch with and trust one’s inner authority and wisdom.

Linda S. Jones,
Linda Jones looks at therapy as a tool to assist with life challenges, whether these challenges arise from external or internal circumstances or a combination. In this light, we don’t need to wait until we are desperate in order to seek therapy, and we don’t need to regard ourselves as weak or defective. By the same token, none of us will ever be “finished” with our psychological growth, and we don’t need to stay in therapy until we are perfect. Linda attended the University of Maine at Orono for her Master’s degree in Counseling and went on to earn an Ed.D. in Counseling Psychology from Boston University. Prior to joining Rasi Associates in 2012, she served as Director of Counseling and Health Services at Salem State University for over twenty years, working with college students of all ages as a therapist, trainer, consultant and administrator. At Rasi Associates, she has been able to return to a focus on individual psychotherapy and the rewards of working collaboratively with clients toward the changes they hope to see in their lives.
