I work with a wide variety of individuals, from executives, artists, clergy, and students, to business owners, IT professionals, managers and those in leadership positions. I have worked extensively with gay and lesbian clients, especially around issues of self-esteem, developing healthy, loving relationships, as well as overcoming anxiety and depression. I have consulted with small businesses in addition to having run a nonprofit corporation for over 10 years. I also worked in publishing and advertising for many years before becoming a licensed psychologist. My corporate and nonprofit work experience have brought me a broad understanding of workplace dynamics such as team-building, managing difficult work situations, finding satisfaction in work, and defining organizational missions.

My approach to therapy is to work collaboratively and interactively with individuals, couples and groups in order to achieve healthier, happier internal and interpersonal relationships. I have developed a special appreciation for the ability of group psychotherapy to help individuals learn more about themselves than is possible in individual therapy. As an active member of the Northeast Society for Group Psychotherapy, I have learned about the power of group to change peoples’ lives in unexpected and deeply satisfying ways. Through developing relationships with other group members, individuals learn what facilitates and what impedes intimacy. Group therapy fosters acceptance of self--both strengths and vulnerabilities--and reinforces ways in which members can best make use of their strengths to enhance relationships with oneself and others.
