My path to becoming a therapist was initially sparked by my interests in meditation and other alternative forms of healing. Starting in 1990, my academic experience introduced me to feminist, existential and psychoanalytic theories, all of which had a profound impact on how I conceptualize the psychotherapeutic process.

Today I integrate all of my interests and offer a therapeutic relationship that is compassionate, directive, and emphasizes your strengths. I have found that therapy outcome is greatly enhanced by addressing psychological issues from multiple perspectives. This is done by looking at how your thinking and thoughts can create stress and unhappiness; by learning to listen to your body and be more attuned to what it is telling you; and by becoming better acquainted with your emotional self, and ways to cope with and process difficult emotions.

My years of experience as a psychotherapist have taught me that the most important factor in healing and recovery is learning how to have a good relationship with yourself. This, in turn, leads to better relationships with others. In addressing these issues I use a gentle, empathic and integrated approach. It is my intention to help you gain greater self-awareness, be better able to cope with pain and stress, and experience more peace and well-being in your life.
